Argentina police arrest woman accused of leading 'black widow' robbery ring

Authorities in Argentina have partially dismantled a criminal organization following the arrest of 21-year-old Lourdes Milagros Rodríguez in José C. Paz, northwest Greater Buenos Aires. Known online as ‘Eluney,’ Rodríguez allegedly used social media platforms like TikTok to lure victims by showcasing a luxurious lifestyle involving high-end restaurants, luxury vehicles, and designer goods.

According to investigators, the group operated using a ‘black widow’ modus operandi. Rodríguez would arrange meetings with men through social media and subsequently administer benzodiazepines into their drinks to induce drowsiness and submission. Once the victims were incapacitated, members of the criminal group would arrive to steal money and personal belongings. Upon her arrest, police discovered that Rodríguez had an existing warrant for the sale of narcotics.
