Black widow robbery ring arrest in Argentina

Overview

Authorities in the Buenos Aires province have arrested 21-year-old Lourdes Milagros Rodríguez, known on social media as ‘Eluney’, for allegedly leading a criminal organization using a ‘black widow’ robbery scheme.

Investigators report that Rodríguez used social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok to lure male victims by projecting a luxurious lifestyle. During arranged meetings, the group allegedly administered benzodiazepines into victims' drinks to induce drowsiness. Once the victims were incapacitated, members of the group would steal cash, electronics, and other personal belongings.

The investigation was triggered by a robbery in Pilar where a man was drugged and robbed of various items, including a smartphone and a gaming console. Following security camera analysis, police conducted raids in José C. Paz and Merlo, resulting in the arrest of Rodríguez and two other men, a Venezuelan and a Chilean national. During the operations, police seized stolen items and various forms of currency. It was also noted that Rodríguez had an active arrest warrant for the sale of narcotics.
