Argentina President Javier Milei Confronts Supreme Court Asset Seizure and Criminal Complaint

Argentina's Supreme Court affirmed a ruling that orders the seizure of roughly $394,000 linked to former president Cristina Kirchner's inherited assets, part of a broader set of investigations targeting the former leader and her family.

Separately, Union por la Patria deputy Juan Marino filed a criminal complaint against President Javier Milei and several senior officials, including former chief of staff Manuel Adorni, defence minister Carlos Presti, foreign minister Pablo Quirno and a former coordination secretary. The complaint alleges abuse of executive powers and seeks judicial scrutiny of key government decisions.

Both actions underscore a growing wave of legal challenges against Milei’s libertarian administration amid a severe economic crisis and heightened political polarization in Argentina.
