Argentina promotes investment opportunities in Singapore
Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno met with global firms and sovereign wealth funds in Singapore to promote business opportunities in Argentina. The discussions focused on strategic sectors including energy, mining, food, infrastructure, knowledge industries, and new technologies. Quirno highlighted Singapore's role as a financial and logistical hub connecting Argentina to the Asia-Pacific region, noting that the Asia-Pacific accounted for 27% of Argentine exports in 2025.
Economist Sebastián Waisgold noted that while large-scale investments in energy, mining, and agriculture are being driven by tools like the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI), small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) continue to face significant difficulties in accessing financing. Waisgold emphasized that long-term investor certainty depends on the continuity of economic policies and the ability to build political consensus that transcends presidential mandates.
