Argentina provinces outline 2027 provincial election schedules

The Tucumán Electoral Board formalised the timetable for the province’s 2027 elections, setting key deadlines such as the November 10, 2026 voter‑registry closure, the March 1, 2027 deadline for party alliances, and the May 9, 2027 voting day for the governor, vice‑governor, legislators and local officials. The schedule also defines the campaign period, the electoral silence, and the final vote count.

In other northern provinces, governors are planning to split their provincial elections from the national October vote. Jujuy’s administration announced it will advance its local contest to an unspecified date, while Salta is targeting mid‑May 2027, with possible dates of May 16 or 23. Chaco’s governor Leandro Zdero confirmed a separate election date, though a specific day has not been set. Catamarca’s governor Raúl Jalil chose to keep the provincial election aligned with the national calendar. Officials estimate the desdoblamiento could add up to US$10 million in costs for the provinces.
