Argentina pushes ahead with gas pipeline and highway expansions

Litoral Gas announced the reactivation of the Regional Center II gas pipeline to serve the localities of Felicia, Pilar and Nuevo Torino, with an extension to Sarmiento under study. The work, presented to local officials and Senator Rubén Pirola, is slated for completion by February 2028 and aims to provide natural gas for residential and industrial users in the region.

The province’s Ruta 11 dual‑carriageway between Villa Gesell and Mar Chiquita is more than 85% finished. The 72.4‑km stretch, financed by the Buenos Aires government and the Inter‑American Development Bank, is expected to be open for the summer season. Governor Axel Kicillof’s administration highlighted the project’s job‑creation and tourism benefits. Municipal mayor Gustavo Barrera said, “the works progress according to schedule and we are confident the double lane will be completed before the end of the year, coinciding with the start of the summer season.”
