Argentina pushes forward logistics corridors linking Puerto Ocampo and Vaca Muerta to new export routes

Provincial authorities in Villa Ocampo met on 19 June 2026 with officials from Santa Fe, national ministries and the Argentine Army to advance the access road to Puerto Ocampo and its riverine connection to Bella Vista, Corrientes. Mayor Cristian Marega said the technical work on bridges, culverts and access routes is proceeding and could be operational by early 2027, pending suitable weather.

Separately, Governor Rolando Figueroa announced a pilot test slated for July to open a multimodal corridor linking the Vaca Muerta shale region with the Pacific. The scheme will move cargo by train from Zapala to the Chilean city of Victoria, then by truck to the port of Coronel in the Biobío region, aiming to cut transport time and cost for energy exports and diversify export routes.
