Argentina rainfall replenishes soil water reserves in Litoral region

Recent rainfall across Argentina's agricultural belt has improved soil water reserves, particularly in the Litoral region. According to the Oficina de Riesgo Agropecuario (ORA), the most significant weekly changes occurred in the Litoral, where precipitation increased water availability in soil profiles, with temporary excesses noted in northeastern Entre Ríos.

In Buenos Aires, moisture levels remain favorable for wheat crops, though no significant water excesses were recorded in wheat-designated plots. Rainfall distribution across the agricultural zone has been uneven; while northern Buenos Aires and northern Santa Fe saw substantial accumulations—including 85 mm in Plu Nogues, Santa Fe—regions such as Córdoba and Entre Ríos reported more modest figures.

The recent weather patterns reflect the heterogeneous influence of El Niño, with some areas aligning with characteristic patterns while others deviate from expected behaviors.
