Argentina ranks cities for early childhood development, Rafaela and Junín among top spots

The Fundación Bunge y Born released the NIDO Index, an assessment that measures early childhood development conditions in Argentine cities with populations over 100,000. The index evaluates four dimensions – socioeconomic context, health services, education access, and green spaces – using official census data and public records.

The ranking placed Buenos Aires first, followed by Vicente López, and Rafaela in third place. Other cities in the top ten include Olavarría, Mendoza, and Junín, which ranked sixth. Rafaela’s mayor Leonardo Viotti said the result “confirms we are on the right path” and highlighted the city’s investment in health, education and public spaces for children. Fundación executive Gerardo della Paolera emphasized that “the real investment bank is education,” underscoring the index’s aim to guide policymakers toward equitable interventions.
