Overview

In late June 2026 Argentina’s fiscal‑responsibility watchdog reported that Córdoba province earned a perfect 100‑point score on the national Fiscal Transparency Index, joining Entre Ríos and Santa Fe among the most compliant jurisdictions. The same period saw the release of the NIDO Index, which ranks Argentine cities on early‑childhood development indicators. Córdoba and Río Cuarto were highlighted as among the best places for raising young children, based on socio‑economic context, health services, education access and green‑space availability.

Early July updates to the NIDO Index expanded the city‑ranking picture. A July 9 release again underscored Córdoba and Río Cuarto’s strong performance while listing Buenos Aires, Vicente López, Rafaela, Olavarría and others in the top tier. A July 13 report placed Rafaela third overall and highlighted Junín’s sixth‑place finish; mayor Leonardo Viotti said the result confirms the city’s path, citing recent investments in health, education and public spaces. Fundación Bunge y Born executive Gerardo della Paolera stressed that “the real investment bank is education,” underscoring the index’s policy purpose.

On July 31 the Ministry of Human Development in Chubut province met with Fundación Bunge y Born to assess adopting the NIDO Index. Officials discussed linking the tool with provincial programmes such as Chubut Crece and MUNA, aiming to generate territorial diagnostics that pinpoint early‑childhood gaps and guide resource allocation. Both sides agreed to continue technical exchanges to evaluate implementation.
