Argentina seeks US$ 1 billion in credit via multilateral guarantees

Argentine Economy Minister Luis Caputo met with World Bank officials to discuss financing alternatives for strategic projects planned for 2027. Caputo stated that the World Bank provides total support for Argentina's economic policies.

To expand access to international credit, the Argentine government is utilizing multilateral guarantees. FONPLATA has approved a guarantee of up to US$ 250 million, which is linked to the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI). This measure is intended to help the Ministry of Economy manage approximately US$ 500 million with private entities.

Additionally, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) approved a US$ 250 million guarantee in July. By combining these multilateral supports, the official objective is to secure nearly US$ 1,000 million through loans from international banks.
