Cristina Kirchner's properties seized by Argentine court

The Tribunal Oral Federal N° 2 has ordered the preventive seizure of numerous assets linked to former Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and her family. This judicial action is part of the asset execution phase of the ‘Vialidad’ case, which seeks to recover approximately 685,000 million pesos in damages to the state.

Among the seized properties is the apartment at San José 1111 in Buenos Aires, where Kirchner is currently serving house arrest. The property belongs to Los Sauces S.A., a real estate firm tied to the Kirchner family. Other affected assets include properties in Puerto Madero, such as a duplex and seven parking spaces, as well as various lands and buildings in Santa Cruz, including the Hotel La Aldea in El Chaltén.

The court's decision also extends to the assets of Máximo and Florencia Kirchner. Reports indicate that the seizure includes approximately 5 million dollars from Florencia Kirchner's safety deposit box and a fleet of vehicles.

Judges Rodrigo Giménez Uriburu, Jorge Gorini, and Andrés Basso clarified that these measures are intended to ensure the legal unavailability of the assets during the final forfeiture process. The seizure does not currently trigger an immediate auction or change the legal ownership of the properties, nor does it alter the current conditions of Kirchner's house arrest.
