Cristina Kirchner assets seized by Argentine court
The Tribunal Oral Federal N.º 2 has ordered new preventive seizures and precautionary measures against assets linked to former Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and her family. This action is part of a second stage of asset execution following her conviction in the ‘Vialidad’ corruption case, which aims to recover approximately 685,000 million pesos in damages to the state.
The seizure includes the apartment at San José 1111 in the Monserrat neighborhood, where Kirchner is currently serving house arrest. This property belongs to Los Sauces S.A., the Kirchner family's real estate firm. Other seized assets include properties in Puerto Madero, such as a duplex and several parking spaces, as well as various lands and buildings in the province of Santa Cruz, including the site of the Hotel La Aldea in El Chaltén and properties in El Calafate and Río Gallegos.
The court also extended these measures to assets belonging to Máximo and Florencia Kirchner. The judicial ruling establishes the legal unavailability of these assets to prevent their transfer or sale while the final forfeiture process is determined. The court clarified that these measures do not imply an immediate auction or a change in legal ownership at this stage.
