Argentina sets Guinness World Record for largest alfajor

Argentina has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest alfajor in the world. The massive confection weighed 3,112 kilograms and was assembled during the Cafecito BA festival at the Plaza de las Naciones Unidas in Buenos Aires.

The project was driven by Argentine streamer Iván “Spreen” Buhajeruk, co-founder of the GIGA alfajor brand. The creation involved over 100 participants, including professionals and students from the Instituto Gastronómico Internacional (IGI), who worked in teams to prepare the dough, filling, and coating.

To achieve the record-breaking scale, the recipe required approximately 1,400 kilograms of dulce de leche, 800 kilograms of flour, 400 kilograms of chocolate, 100 kilograms of honey, and more than 7,500 eggs. The final structure was composed of 46 interlocking pieces. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Uruguay since 2010, which weighed 464 kilograms.
