Argentina simplifies machinery imports for the mining sector
The Argentine government has introduced new regulations to streamline the importation of machinery and equipment for the mining sector. Under Resolution 73/2026, the Secretariat of Mining within the Ministry of Economy is replacing prior administrative authorizations with a digital sworn declaration system.
This reform aims to simplify access to tax exemptions on import duties and other levies for capital goods intended for mining production. The new framework shifts from a model of bureaucratic pre-control to an agile system focused on continuous traceability and subsequent inspection. Key changes include the elimination of import certificates, the facilitation of importing used or reconditioned equipment, and the ability to use the same machinery across different projects owned by the same beneficiary.
