Argentina machinery import deregulation

Overview

Argentina has implemented new measures to simplify the importation of machinery and equipment through digital integration and administrative reform.

Initially, the Agencia de Recaudación y Control Aduanero (ARCA) introduced General Resolution 5892/2026, which integrated the Import Regime of Used Production Lines into the Ventanilla Única de Comercio Exterior Argentino (VUCEA). This digital framework allows for the automatic validation of documentation within the Sistema Informático Malvina (SIM) to reduce bureaucratic friction.

Following this, the government introduced Resolution 73/2026 specifically targeting the mining sector. This reform replaces prior administrative authorizations with a digital sworn declaration system, aiming to simplify access to tax exemptions on import duties. The new model shifts from “bureaucratic pre-control” to a system focused on “continuous traceability and subsequent inspection,” facilitating the use of used or reconditioned equipment.
