Argentina's ANAC streamlines foreign airline entry

The Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) approved an amendment to Part 129 of the Argentine Civil Aviation Regulations (RAAC) to simplify the process for foreign airlines to obtain operating certificates for international services to and from Argentina. The update introduces a faster recognition scheme for Air Operator Certificates (AOC) issued by states that have active agreements with Argentina and whose aviation authorities meet satisfactory safety oversight levels, as assessed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Redundant administrative steps are removed, verification of already‑validated safety measures is avoided, and resources are focused on higher‑risk operators, preserving the country’s operational safety standards.

The reform is part of ANAC’s broader effort to modernize and digitize the Argentine aviation system, aiming to increase competition, expand connectivity options for passengers, and align national regulations with ICAO risk‑based supervision practices.
