Argentina's Banco Nación awarded AAA long‑term rating

FIX, an affiliate of Fitch Ratings, reaffirmed Banco Nación's top‑tier long‑term credit rating of "AAA" with a stable outlook and kept its short‑term rating at "A1+ (arg)". The agency cited the bank’s leadership within the Argentine financial system, strong liquidity, its role as the government’s primary financial agent, sustained performance, and ongoing digital transformation initiatives as key factors. The rating also reflects improvements in asset quality, a stable loan‑to‑deposit ratio, and a record low country risk score of 418 points, the lowest in eight years. Banco Nación remains a systemic institution, accounting for 23.3% of total deposits and 20.6% of total loans in the system as of March 2026, and continues its 2025‑2026 business plan focused on omnichannel digital banking and enhanced security for users.
