Argentina's Buenos Aires and Río Negro Provinces Sign New Development Pacts with UNICEF and YPF

Governor Axel Kicillof of Buenos Aires Province renewed a memorandum of understanding with UNICEF, extending cooperation until 2027. The agreement targets poverty reduction, child health and nutrition, education and protection from violence, and adds 40 districts to the “Municipio Unido por la Niñez y Adolescencia” program, now covering about 75% of the province’s municipalities. Kicillof used the ceremony to criticize President Javier Milei’s policies, emphasizing the province’s commitment to children and adolescents.

In Río Negro, Governor Alberto Weretilneck and YPF President Horacio Marín signed a series of accords with the YPF Foundation, YPF S.A., and UN‑Habitat. The framework sets out joint actions for sustainable urban development, local capacity building and technical‑professional education. Municipalities such as San Antonio Oeste and Sierra Grande joined the UN‑Habitat Sustainable Cities program. The education component includes 120 industry internships, 120 teacher‑training slots, 520 technical‑digital courses, a mobile energy classroom, and 62 interactive energy‑science models for schools across the province.
