Argentina's Chaco Province Institutionalizes Indigenous Bilingual School No. 12

After nearly a decade operating as a special project, the Escuela Pública de Gestión Comunitaria Bilingüe Intercultural Indígena (EPGCBII) No 12 in the rural area of Juan José Castelli, Chaco, was officially institutionalized. The school now provides initial, primary and secondary education to more than 200 students and secures permanent teaching positions.

The ceremony was attended by regional education director Humberto Molina, community council president Omar Celín, Indigenous parliament member and Qom translator Paulino Sánchez, legal adviser Yolanda Ríos, as well as the provincial governor Leandro Zdero and education minister Sofía Naidenoff. Participants highlighted the milestone as a collective achievement that advances bilingual intercultural education and expands opportunities for historically marginalized Indigenous communities.
