Argentina's CTA unions reaffirm alliance with CGT to oppose Milei reforms

The two fractions of Argentina's Central de Trabajadores Autonomía (CTA Autónoma) and CTA de los Trabajadores met to ratify a unified stance with the General Confederation of Labor (CGT). The leaders pledged coordinated actions against President Javier Milei's libertarian labor reform and broader policies they describe as surrendering national sovereignty to foreign capital. They plan to deepen dialogue with religious, university, scientific, provincial, municipal, and legislative sectors to build a broad resistance front. The unions also voiced continued support for pension protests, condemned the criminalisation of dissent, and welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to keep the university financing law in force. Additionally, they celebrated a successful campaign that halted the privatization bid for the state-owned airline Intercargo.
