Argentina's Education Minister Guillermo Araujo outlines San Luis reforms
At a conference in Buenos Aires hosted by the Roberto Rocca Technical School, Education Minister Guillermo Araujo presented San Luis province’s education agenda alongside counterparts from Santa Fe and Corrientes. He highlighted three priority pillars: universalizing the “sala de 3 años” early‑childhood program, which now reaches 65.69% of eligible children up from 32.56% in December 2023; the provincial literacy plan “Queremos Aprender,” which has lifted first‑grade reading and writing competence to 86% from 35% at the start of the term; and the mathematics plan “Queremos Resolver,” which has raised optimal performance in grades 4‑6 by 10%, benefiting roughly 2,500 more students. Araujo also announced the creation of the Provincial Commission for University and Labor Articulation (CoProANS) and the “Beca al Mérito” scholarship for the top three graduates of each secondary school. He stressed that political will is essential for translating ideas into lasting change.
