Argentina's Entre Ríos water services face inspections and sabotage investigations

The Ente Descentralizado de Obras Sanitarias (EDOS) in Concordia has launched a special inspection unit to locate domestic water losses. Property owners will be given a 72‑hour deadline to fix leaks, after which fines and possible service cuts may be applied, especially on abandoned or unresponsive premises. The operation aims to curb waste and raise public awareness of water costs.

In Concepción del Uruguay, a valve on the Hospital Urquiza’s water system was deliberately closed, cutting supply to the facility and affecting around 60 patients. The shut‑off caused pressure buildup, resulting in a pipe rupture and material damage. Police have opened an investigation, while municipal tank trucks delivered emergency water to maintain essential services.
