Argentina's Gardel Awards gala set for May 26; National Tango Festival scheduled for July 24‑25

The 2026 Gardes Awards, Argentina's premier music ceremony, will take place on Tuesday 26 May at the historic Teatro Coliseo. The event begins at 21:00, with a red‑carpet pre‑show at 20:15, and will be broadcast live on TNT and HBO Max. Hosts Diego León and Eleonora Pérez Caresi will lead the ceremony, which features performances by Trueno, Ángela Leiva, Coti, La K’onga, Yami Safdie, Marilina Bertoldi and others, highlighting the country's diverse musical styles.

The 42nd edition of the Festival Nacional del Tango will be held in La Falda, Córdoba, with gala nights on Friday 24 July and Saturday 25 July at the Auditorio Municipal Carlos Gardel. The program includes the final of the Certamen de Voces, concerts by Nahuel Pennisi, Ariel Ardit, Magui Cullen, Esteban Morgado and several orchestras, as well as a closing milonga featuring Tabaré Leyton. The festival extends the city’s tango activities from 10 July with seminars, milongas, public performances and cultural events throughout the town.
