Argentina 2026 tango and music festivals

In July 2026, organizers announced two major events for Argentina's music scene. The Gardel Awards ceremony, the country's premier music awards, was scheduled for 26 May at Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, with a televised broadcast and performances by a range of Argentine artists. The same announcement detailed the 42nd National Tango Festival, set for 24‑25 July in La Falda, Córdoba, featuring concerts, competitions and a closing milonga.

A week later, in early August, Buenos Aires launched the 8th Semana de las Milongas, a city‑wide tango festival running until 7 August. The program included 59 milongas across neighborhoods, dance classes, and performances by local orchestras and dancers, culminating with a closing show at La Viruta Tango Club.

Together, these announcements trace a concentrated period of high‑profile music and tango celebrations across Argentina, moving from the national awards and festival in May‑July to a city‑focused milonga series in August.
