Patricia Bullrich's resignation offer fuels Senate showdown in Argentina

Senator Patricia Bullrich, head of the La Libertad Avanza bloc, submitted her resignation to President Javier Milei after refusing to support the government's request to withdraw the judicial candidacy of María Verónica Michelli. The Senate later approved Michelli’s pliego with 44 votes in favor, 18 against and two abstentions, Bullrich abstaining and citing an “objection of conscience.”

The episode sparked internal criticism from Milei‑aligned senators, who rebuked Bullrich for deviating from the president’s line.
