Governor Axel Kicillof to attend III Panamerican Congress in Montevideo
Argentina’s Governor of Buenos Aires Province, Axel Kicillof, will travel to Montevideo to take part in the III Panamerican Congress of progressive leaders, scheduled for 21‑23 August at the Palacio Legislativo. The gathering is expected to host around 100 regional politicians and aims to forge a common agenda against the rise of right‑wing governments in Latin America.
The congress will be chaired by Uruguay’s left‑leaning president Yamandú Orsi and will feature notable participants such as Chilean politician Jeannette Jara, former Uruguayan vice‑president Lucía Topolansky, former Colombian president Ernesto Samper and legislators from the U.S. Democratic Party. Delegates will discuss topics including regional economic integration, re‑industrialisation, digital sovereignty, multilateralism and security, under the theme “Solidarity among peoples, sovereignty among nations.”
