Argentina's municipalities roll out free health, vaccination and pet‑sterilisation services across neighborhoods

Municipal health offices in several Argentine cities are offering a week of free services from 8 to 13 June. In La Plata, the municipality will provide free vaccinations (including seasonal flu), rapid HIV and syphilis testing, pediatric and dental check‑ups, blood‑pressure monitoring and dengue prevention in neighbourhoods such as Villa Elvira, City Bell and Tolosa.

San Miguel de Tucumán’s animal‑population department will run mobile sterilisation units in the Ciudadela and Victoria districts, offering free castration for dogs and cats that meet age and health criteria.

San Francisco’s Barrio Parque hosted a health‑certificate day where nurses and doctors performed weight, height and dental checks for schoolchildren, allowing families to avoid travelling for required certificates.

Buenos Aires continues its “Más servicios en tu barrio” programme, deploying mobile offices in Flores, Parque Chacabuco, Chacarita, Mataderos, Villa Riachuelo and Liniers. Residents can obtain DNI or passport documents, receive subsidised utility assistance, file consumer complaints, and access medical services such as flu and COVID‑19 vaccination, ophthalmology, dentistry and free pet‑vaccination and castration (by appointment).

The city’s Zoonosis mobile clinic set up in the Infico neighbourhood (Suipacha‑Alvear) on 9 June to provide free pet sterilisation, rabies vaccination and de‑worming, with limited turn‑outs distributed on a first‑come basis.
