Argentina's Oscar y Juan Gálvez circuit to host MotoGP after $100 million revamp

The historic Oscar y Juan Gálvez Autodromo in Buenos Aires is undergoing a $100 million overhaul to meet FIM Grade A standards and host a MotoGP round in 2027. The project adds a new 4.3‑km layout with a main straight up to 1 km long, redesigned high‑ and low‑speed corners, and a variable track width of 12–18 m. Upgraded safety systems, a modern control tower, expanded spectator capacity, and a completely new box‑garage complex with 32 garages are also included. The resurfaced circuit will use multi‑layer pavement with polymer‑enhanced asphalt for better grip and durability. Completion is targeted for December, positioning the venue to possibly pursue a future Formula 1 Grade 1 licence as well.

The renovation aims to revive Argentina’s presence on the international motor‑sport calendar, attracting global teams and fans while boosting the local economy through construction jobs and future event tourism.
