Argentina's Patagonian ski resorts gear up for 2026 winter season
The municipality of San Carlos de Bariloche announced that its public transport to Cerro Catedral will run hourly during the upcoming winter season, with fares of ARS 7,057.76 for non‑residents and ARS 1,534.28 for residents. Riders can view the total fare on the SUBE card validator, though only the applicable rate is deducted. The city is also evaluating equipment‑friendly devices to improve ski‑and‑snowboard transport.
At Cerro Chapelco in San Martín de Los Andes, officials launched a promotion allowing the Daily Ski Pass, priced at ARS 160,000, to be paid in three interest‑free instalments with Visa or Mastercard. The offer is part of the 2026 season pre‑sale and is available online and at designated points in Buenos Aires. Chapelco is also undertaking infrastructure upgrades and expects favorable snowfall and sub‑zero temperatures ahead of the season opening, aiming to attract a strong flow of tourists to the Neuquén Cordillera.
