Argentina's Prix Baron B culinary prize names three finalists
The eighth edition of the Prix Baron B – Édition Cuisine has announced its three finalists: Anna Restaurante de Campo in Chaco, Alcanfor in Buenos Aires, and Crujiente in Ushuaia. The competition highlights projects that combine culinary excellence with sustainable practices and strong territorial identity.
The finalists were selected by a jury chaired by chef Mauro Colagreco and comprising Dolli Irigoyen, Gonzalo Aramburu and Gabriel Oggero. The final will be held on 27 August at the Faena Art Center in Buenos Aires, where each chef will prepare a live dish that represents the essence of their project.
Anna Restaurante de Campo, led by Alina Ruiz, builds its menu from ingredients grown on its own farm, emphasizing regenerative cattle ranching and seasonal, traceable produce. Alcanfor, run by Julián Galende in the Villa Crespo neighbourhood, follows a circular‑economy model that works closely with local producers. Crujiente, located in Tierra del Fuego, focuses on northern Argentine flavors adapted to the southern environment. The prize, established in 2018, rewards initiatives that generate positive community impact through responsible sourcing, innovation and environmental stewardship.
