PRO party urges President Milei to dismiss cabinet chief Adorni amid corruption probe

Argentina's centre‑right PRO party, founded by former president Mauricio Macri, issued a public statement urging President Javier Milei to “defend the change and not Adorni.” The party accused cabinet chief Manuel Adorni of a “grave fault” after he admitted hiding about 500,000 USD in his asset declarations and later presented revised filings showing additional crypto‑derived wealth.

PRO leaders called for Adorni’s resignation, saying the scandal erodes public confidence. Opposition deputies have also moved to interpellate the minister and propose a motion of censuring. President Milei, however, reiterated his support, stating that Adorni will not be removed.

Speculation surfaced about a possible replacement, with analyst Jorge Asís suggesting Human‑Capital minister Sandra Pettovello could become the first female chief of staff. The dispute highlights growing tensions within Milei’s governing coalition as the investigation into alleged illicit enrichment continues.
