Argentina's provinces push Falklands legacy with school book and signage

Governor Claudio Poggi of San Luis province handed copies of the book *Malvinas, El Legado* to two technical schools, where the 300‑page volume contains testimonies of 79 Falklands‑war veterans and their families. Author Diego Masci explained that the book includes QR codes linking to video reports of each veteran, aiming to preserve the conflict’s memory for students.

In Mendoza province, deputy Germán Gómez presented a bill that would require the permanent display of the legend “Las Islas Malvinas son argentinas” alongside an official bi‑continental map on all provincial public buildings, transport terminals, the International Airport and other high‑traffic sites. The proposal cites the constitutional claim over the islands and follows similar measures adopted in Río Negro, Tierra del Fuego and Buenos Aires. If approved, the executive would have up to 180 days to implement the signage.

Both initiatives reflect a coordinated effort by Argentine provincial authorities to reinforce national remembrance of the Falklands War and to educate the public about the legacy of the veterans.
