A video of the flag went viral, prompting Argentine street‑artist Oaky to recreate the scene as a mural on a Barcelona building, which drew criticism from British officials and sparked debate over the Falklands legacy.

The momentum shifted to domestic policy when provincial leaders took concrete steps to institutionalise the message. In San Luis, Governor Claudio Poggi distributed a newly published book, *Malvinas, El Legado*, featuring veteran testimonies to technical schools. Simultaneously, Mendoza’s deputy Germán Gómez introduced a bill to require the permanent display of the “Las Islas Malvinas son argentinas” legend on public buildings, transport hubs and the international airport. These actions echo similar measures already adopted in Río Negro, Tierra del Fuego and Buenos Aires, reflecting a coordinated effort by Argentine provinces to preserve and promote the memory of the 1982 Falklands War.
