Argentina's book fairs and festivals attract millions of attendees in July

The 23rd La Ríoja Book Fair drew more than 30,000 visitors, hosted over 400 free activities and sold 9,000 books. In Buenos Aires, the 50th International Book Fair featured a Ukrainian stand that organized talks, music and cultural displays about the war and resilience. The 16th Corrientes Provincial Book Fair recorded sales of over 10,500 titles, generating more than 170 million Argentine pesos for local publishers and artisans. Córdoba’s annual "Festival Pensar con Humor" staged free performances across the province, including shows by Alejandro Dolina, Anita Martínez and a symphonic comedy by "El Flaco" Pailos. In Misiones, the sixth edition of the "Rueda Chamamé" arrived in Puerto Río, offering live music, dance and local crafts. The University’s Julio Cultural Universitario celebrated its 27th edition with concerts, theatre, visual arts and educational workshops that filled venues across the city. Brandsen’s "Sabores del Mundo" street fair provided three days of international food, crafts and free concerts. Villa María’s community theatre presented the comedy "La Gesta de las Viejas" for a free audience. Rafaela’s Theatre Festival concluded with over 30 performances, reinforcing the city’s cultural resistance despite limited funding. Senator Eduardo Vischi awarded writer José Gabriel Ceballos a Senate Honorary Diploma during the Corrientes book fair, highlighting his contribution to regional literature.
