Argentina's Río Negro and Neuquén Provinces Expand Energy Support Programs
The Río Negro provincial government launched the "Energía en tu Hogar" program in San Carlos de Bariloche, targeting 8,217 families across the province with a projected distribution of 66,698 gas bottles for the high‑demand winter season. The initiative, announced by Governor Alberto Weretilneck, includes a digital validation system and an investment exceeding 2.152 billion pesos, covering the Andean, Southern and Atlantic zones.
In Neuquén, Governor Rolando Figueroa delivered 60 new service vehicles to the provincial energy utility EPEN, marking a 4.5 billion‑peso investment aimed at improving emergency response capabilities. The governor highlighted the need to reinforce state‑run energy infrastructure, referencing ongoing projects such as transformer upgrades and the northern ring to secure regional power supply.
Both actions underscore provincial efforts to strengthen energy services and support vulnerable communities through substantial public spending and logistical enhancements.
