Argentina's Río Negro Province Secures $60 Million Health Credit
The Inter‑American Development Bank will provide a $60 million credit to the Argentine province of Río Negro for its 2026‑2031 Health Plan. Governor Alberto Weretilneck announced that the funds will finance new technology for operating rooms, neonatology, adult and pediatric intensive care units, imaging and laboratory equipment, and the province‑wide rollout of an electronic health record system.
Health Minister Demetrio Thalasselis will present the main pillars of the plan to the bank’s board, highlighting how electronic records will enable tele‑health consultations, reduce duplicate tests and give patients online access to their medical information. The investment is described as a transformative step for public health in Río Negro.
