Argentina's Rural Expo launches green financing scheme and bovine genomics program

During the annual Rural Expo, the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA) brought together financial institutions, sustainability experts and government officials to promote direct green financing for producers adopting environmentally friendly practices. Director Andrés Costamagna thanked The Nature Conservancy for its collaboration, highlighting the SRA's Triple Impact Label as a tool to improve credit terms, reduce risk and extend loan periods for sustainable farms. Participants stressed that environmental considerations have become an imperative, noting that insurers and banks now view sustainability as a market enabler rather than a limitation.

In the same event, the Fundación Sadosky signed cooperation agreements with the Braford Argentina and the Argentine Brangus Association, supported by the national Secretariat of Innovation, Science and Technology. The accords launch the Integral Bovine Genomics Program, which will use data science and bioinformatics to map cattle ancestry, genealogy and gene‑trait links. The initiative aims to boost access to high‑standard export markets, strengthen preventive animal health measures and create added value for Argentina’s beef sector.
