Argentina's Salta Province urges gas supply guarantees from Vaca Muerta to sustain industry

Governor Gustavo Sáenz of Salta and eight private‑sector organisations signed a note to Economy Minister Luis Caputo requesting larger volumes of industrial gas from the Vaca Muerta shale basin. They warned that existing supply restrictions jeopardise employment, investment and the competitiveness of northern Argentine provinces.

In the adjacent province of Neuquén, small‑ and medium‑sized enterprises flagged the challenges of Vaca Muerta’s rapid expansion, noting increased competition from firms outside the region. Industry leaders called for stronger local cooperation and policy measures to ensure that the boom benefits local businesses and preserves jobs.
