Argentina's San Luis Province Holds Fourth Apiculture Sector Meeting

The government of San Luis Province organized its fourth Apiculture Sector Meeting on 30 March, bringing together producers, national and provincial authorities, and academic institutions. The agenda included a technical training session on honey traceability presented by SENASA director Mauricio Rabinovich and the launch of a new apiculture diploma program for 2027 announced by university rector Rudy Cámara. Participants reviewed progress on the 2026‑2027 Action Plan, discussed the establishment of extraction rooms, and examined updates to the National Apiculture Programme.

In the neighboring province of Mendoza, beekeepers from the southern region attended a free training session at the INTA Experimental Station in Rama Caída. Export‑oriented specialists from one of Argentina's largest honey exporters explained new international quality standards and export requirements, emphasizing the need for producers to meet strict hygiene and residue controls to maintain market access.

Both events highlight Argentina's push to improve honey quality, traceability, and producer education to strengthen the sector's competitiveness in global markets.
