Argentina's Santa Fe and Neuquén boost school construction for inclusive education

In Santa Fe Province, Governor Maximiliano Pullaro signed a decree in April setting guidelines for inclusive schooling. Advocates, including Dr. Mariela Peña of the Incluime Santa Fe association, praised the decree but warned that without a formal education law, adequate funding, and regional adaptation, the measures risk remaining unused. Specific concerns highlighted include the need for building modifications, technology, therapeutic aides, and qualified inclusive teachers, as well as financing gaps for these supports.

In Neuquén Province, Governor Rolando Figueroa reported that during his two‑and‑a‑half‑year term the province has inaugurated three new rural schools in San Martín de los Andes and launched four additional projects. Investments totalled over ARS 4.6 billion for a new CPEM building, ARS 3.9 billion for a school for adolescents with disabilities, and more than ARS 2 billion for the Centro de Iniciación Artística. The newly opened schools replaced inadequate facilities, expanded space, and improved conditions for students in remote communities.
