Argentina's ski destinations add new ice skating and grocery options

In Tolhuin, the family-run Ecotono complex has reopened its natural ice rink for the winter season. The frozen lagoon now has an ice thickness of about 20 cm, meeting safety standards for public skating. The venue offers skate rentals, lessons for beginners, snowshoeing, and, when conditions allow, cross‑country skiing. A new ice‑karting area will also be available during the weekend, with separate zones to keep activities safe.

At the Las Leñas ski resort in Mendoza, Granja Benedetti has opened a supermarket on the mountain. The store provides fresh meats, cheeses, wines, beverages and everyday pantry items, allowing visitors to purchase supplies without carrying them from the city or planning ahead. The facility operates year‑round, aiming to improve the convenience of stays at one of South America’s major ski centers.
