Argentina's SSN reorganizes passenger transport insurance

The National Superintendency of Insurance (SSN) in Argentina has reorganized the passenger transport insurance sector through Resolution 415/2026. The new regulation divides the branch into two sub-branches: Passenger Transport – Public Services and Passenger Transport – Excluded Public Services.

Under the new rules, a deductible is mandatory for the Public Services sub-branch, whereas insurers have the discretion to reduce or eliminate deductibles for the Excluded Public Services sub-branch. This measure aims to better organize applicable rules and facilitate implementation by insurance companies.

Separately, SSN Superintendent Guillermo Plate attended the 45th Annual Ordinary Assembly of the Association of Insurers of the Interior of the Argentine Republic (ADIRA) in Rosario. During the assembly, Plate emphasized the importance of supervision, solvency, and dialogue with the market. He noted that as strategic sectors like mining, agriculture, and the knowledge industry grow, the insurance market must develop the capacity to manage new risks associated with the evolving economy.
