Argentina's June trade surplus hits $2.2 bn as 2026 export outlook projects record $57 bn foreign‑exchange inflow
In June 2026 Argentina’s foreign‑trade statistics showed exports rising 24.5% year‑on‑year to US$ 9.055 billion, while imports grew 7.3% to US$ 6.861 billion. The resulting trade balance posted a surplus of US$ 2.194 billion, an increase of US$ 1.314 billion over the same month in 2025. The pharmaceutical sector, however, recorded a deficit of US$ 199 million, deepening the red in that segment despite the overall surplus.
A separate forecast by the Bolsa de Comercio de Rosario expects Argentina’s three main export complexes—agro‑industry, mining and energy—to generate a record US$ 57.168 billion in foreign‑exchange earnings in 2026. The projection anticipates the second half of the year delivering more dollars than the first half for the first time, with agro‑industry projected at US$ 34.9 billion, mining above US$ 9 billion, and energy (primarily Vaca Muerta oil) exceeding US$ 14.4 billion. This would surpass the previous peak of US$ 56.722 billion recorded in 2022.
