Argentine Alfajor Championship crowns industrial and artisanal winners

The Argentine Alfajor Championship recently concluded, featuring over 80 producers competing at the Club Ferro Carril Oeste. The 2026 edition introduced two major titles to distinguish between large-scale and small-scale production: one for the Industrial category and one for the Artisanal category.

In the Industrial category, Arroyito was crowned the champion, with Alfajor Barrigón taking second place. In the Artisanal category, Sr. Alfajor secured the top title, earning four gold medals in various subcategories. Other notable winners included Orense, which earned gold in texture and fruit-based categories, and Alma de Campo, which won gold for dulce de leche ecstasy.

Representing the province of Misiones, two brands, Regional and Mianna, are participating in the World Alfajor Championship. Regional offers products made with yerba mate and cassava starch, while Mianna focuses on gluten-free options. Both brands are supported by the Origen Misiones program, an initiative by ADEMI designed to promote local entrepreneurship and value-added products.
