Argentine authorities conduct searches for missing persons

Authorities in Berisso, Argentina, have launched an intensive search operation for 14-year-old Thiago Emanuel Carruega. He was last seen on Thursday, September 24, leaving his home on foot to sell pastries at his school. He never arrived at the educational institution nor returned home. The teenager, described as approximately 1.70 meters tall and weighing 90 kilograms, was last seen wearing a grey jogging bottom, a military-style inflatable jacket, a black t-shirt, and blue sneakers. He does not have a cell phone or a transit card.

In a separate incident in Corrientes, the body of 21-year-old Gabriel Omar Cicuta was discovered in Empedrado after a 72-day search. Cicuta had been missing since July 17, when his motorcycle was found abandoned near the General Belgrano interprovincial bridge connecting Chaco and Corrientes. Following an extensive search involving the Argentine Naval Prefecture and fluvial patrol divisions, his remains were located in an advanced state of decomposition. His mother has officially identified the body.
