Overview

Search and rescue operations involving missing persons and medical emergencies continue across South America.

In Argentina, maritime authorities have conducted aeroevacuations for crew members on merchant and fishing vessels. The Argentine Naval Prefecture and the Rural Police of Bella Vista are utilizing the police boat L-01 to navigate the area.

Intensive searches remain active for 14-year-old Thiago Emanuel Carruega in Berisso, who disappeared on September 24 after leaving home on foot, and 26-year-old Maximiliano Ariel Cabrera in San Luis. In Chile, specialized police units (GOPE) are using drones and underwater techniques to search for 35-year-old Jonathan Zumelzu Garay near the Rahue River in Osorno. In Uruguay, the Ministry of the Interior is seeking assistance to locate 29-year-old Elías Cánova Silvera, who was last seen in San Carlos on September 20.
