Argentine court orders seizure of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's assets

The Federal Oral Court 2 (TOF 2) has ordered new preventive seizures and precautionary measures on the properties, vehicles, and corporate assets of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and other convicted individuals involved in the 'Vialidad' case.

Among the assets targeted is the apartment located at San José 1111 in the Monserrat neighborhood of Buenos Aires, where the former president is currently serving house arrest. The property belongs to Los Sauces, the real estate company of the Kirchner family.

The court stated that these measures are intended to prevent assets from being transferred, encumbered, or removed from the jurisdiction while the forfeiture process proceeds to cover the $685 billion (ARS) fine set in the sentence. The judges clarified that this does not mean the assets will be auctioned immediately or that the owners have permanently lost ownership.

This action follows a previous order to forfeit 111 properties, including 20 linked to the Kirchner family and 85 belonging to Lázaro Báez. While the Supreme Court of Justice reviews appeals regarding the initial batch of assets, the TOF 2 is moving forward with this new list to ensure the possibility of future execution.
