Argentine football clubs active in transfer market
The Argentine football transfer market is seeing significant movement among major clubs. River Plate is preparing a formal offer for Argentinos Juniors defender Francisco Álvarez. The 26-year-old central defender is a primary target to bolster River's defense, especially following the sale of Joaquín Freitas to Flamengo, which provided additional budget. While Argentinos Juniors may seek up to $7 million, negotiations are expected to center around $4.5 to $5 million.
Boca Juniors is also monitoring the situation, considering Álvarez as a defensive option alongside interest in Hernán López Muñoz.
In other moves, Vélez Sarsfield has officially presented Ronaldo Martínez, who joins on loan from Talleres with a potential purchase option. Additionally, Racing Club has secured Juan Barinaga on a one-year loan from Boca Juniors. The deal for Barinaga includes an obligation to buy if he meets specific appearance and playing time requirements.
