Argentine municipalities join UNICEF MUNA initiative

The municipalities of General Las Heras and Adolfo Alsina have joined MUNA (Municipio Unido por la Niñez y la Adolescencia), a UNICEF initiative designed to strengthen local public policies for children and adolescents.

In General Las Heras, an Executive Unit was formed with representatives from various municipal areas, UNICEF, Grupo Pharos, and the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires. The program includes a local self-diagnosis tool to analyze existing responses to the challenges faced by youth in the district.

Adolfo Alsina is among 37 Buenos Aires municipalities joining the program. The district has established an intersectoral Executive Table involving departments such as Human Development, Health, Culture, and Gender and Diversity. This group will conduct a diagnostic study to identify strengths, challenges, and priorities to promote children's rights with technical support from UNICEF and Grupo Pharos.
