Argentine municipalities launch mobile animal health campaigns

Municipalities in Argentina are conducting community-based animal health campaigns to promote responsible pet ownership and public health.

In Trelew, the local government is implementing an integral animal health service across various neighborhoods, including Luz y Fuerza, Norte, Villa Italia, and Tiro Federal. The initiative includes deworming and spaying/neutering services, utilizing a mobile operating room to reach areas such as Guayra, Santa Catalina, and 22 de Agosto. The campaign is scheduled to continue through October and November at over 25 locations, including community centers and public spaces.

In San Carlos de Bariloche, the General Directorate of Animal Health recently completed a campaign in the Nahuel Hue neighborhood, where 128 dogs and cats were spayed or neutered. The program utilizes a mobile operating room to provide free services directly to residents. Director of Animal Health Pablo Roque noted that these territorial operations aim to prevent unwanted reproduction and strengthen community involvement in animal welfare.
